| Rick J. Smith
M.D.is a board certified plastic surgeon who operates at Michigan
Plastic Surgery (MPS), as well as Sparrow, St. Lawrence, and Ingham
Hospitals. He is also an assistant professor at Michigan State
University, a member of the American Society of Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons,
and president of the Mid-Michigan Facial Cleft Clinic.
Dr. Smith earned his Bachelor
of Arts degree in chemistry at Kalamazoo College, and his medical
degree from the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State
University. He completed general and plastic surgery training at
Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and completed a highly
competitive craniofacial fellowship with Dr. Ian Jackson. He has
authored numerous papers and articles describing new techniques in
aesthetic surgical procedures and reconstructive techniques, efforts
that have led to advanced techniques in treatment and healing.
